How to Date Online
Following are some of the basic tips for how to date online.
Always think safety:
Given that there are millions of people on some of the online dating sites, it is imperative that you do NOT give out personal information till you meet and feel comfortable with the person.
Put some of your best pictures:
Put up some of your best pictures in your profile, preferably doing different things. This does the following things for the visitors of your profile, it makes them see you in different scenarios, which triggers them to think of you a person with different shades…rather than someone with one good picture and that’s it. Also, at least 4-5 good pictures enable you to show your personality.
Respond to emails and chat requests:
Respond to people that get in touch with you, but weed them out fast. At this point, qualify the person well but do not be obvious about it. You can politely ask questions, and then use your best judgement to decide if the person on the other end is worth your time and energy.
Do not worry about unanswered emails:
If you initiate correspondence with someone, and never get a reply back, do not sweat it. There are many profiles that might have not been deleted or the person is no longer looking. There could be several reasons other than for which that person did not reply.
Hang in there:
If you do not see positive results on some of these websites, then don’t lose hope and give up. Sometimes, it simply takes a little time to find your match. There are many people dating online, and it seems like only more will date online in the near future, which means there will always be enough people looking for someone like you.
Too many dates:
When you date online, sometimes you end up in a situation of having more than one dates in a week. This can be tricky for many people, but my suggestion is be honest about it, and know that there is nothing wrong with it. The sole purpose of these sites is to meet new people, and that is what one is doing when they have a number of dates lined up.
Take it easy:
This is crucial too. Take it easy! Do not get too focused on the end result. To date online does not mean conquering an end goal. Simply, logon daily (if possible), be playful and humorous in your communications, let your personality shine and let the rest unfold.
